SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Presidential limousines known as “The Beast” joined a KC-135 Stratotanker on the 185th Air Refueling Wing’s flight line on Oct. 22, 2026, bringing Iowa Air National Guard Airmen and U.S. Secret Service personnel together prior to President Donald Trump’s visit to Sioux City.
Secret Service personnel showed Airmen the presidential vehicles before members of both organizations gathered for photos alongside the limousines and tanker.
Following the photos, Airmen hosted Secret Service personnel for a tour of the KC-135, sharing a closer look at the aircraft used in the wing’s aerial refueling mission.
The wing’s aircrews are qualified to refuel the presidential aircraft, designated Air Force One when the president is aboard, if called upon. That capability provides another connection between the Iowa Air National Guard’s mission and the Secret Service’s responsibility to protect the commander in chief.
The exchange allowed Airmen and Secret Service personnel to learn about one another’s equipment and responsibilities. It also highlighted the people and capabilities that military and federal law enforcement organizations bring to supporting the presidency.
